Paper Abstract:
|
This study explores an issue of Digital Divide that exists between ICT savvy large corporations and SMEs, which are
lagging in terms of IT applications. Our study of over 160 small and mid size businesses shows that it is mainly lack of
knowledge and education not funds that is causing the divide. Analysis of relationship between size of the company and
variety of formats of training (from technology driven e-learning and m-learning to 1-on-1 training) as well as their lack
of impact on IT based enhancement of business processes lead to a proposed concept of just-in-time learning. The
promise of m-learning stems not from its gadgetry technology but rather from its ability to respond to a high demand for
just-in-time learning, which is knowledge and context oriented, thus enhancing survival chance of SMEs. |
